The artistic journey of “Podkarpacka Ikonosfera”

The photography exhibition “Podkarpacka Iconosfera” 2023 continues its artistic journey. The next venue for the presentation of the best photographs submitted for the 2023 competition, after the Gallery of Photography of the City of Rzeszow and the Historical Museum in Sanok, is the Museum of the Central Industrial District in Stalowa Wola. The vernissage will take place on July 7, 2024 at 5 pm, and the exhibition will last until September 15, 2024.

The purpose of the “Podkarpackie Iconosphere” competition organized by the Podkarpackie Province is to popularize valuable photography inspired by the cultural landscape of Podkarpacie.

The theme of the 2023 competition was water perceived in a multifaceted way and in relation to the natural and cultural resources of the Podkarpackie Province exposing the unique features of the region’s identity.

 

The contest received 621 photographs taken by 85 authors. Based on the recommendations of the jury, which deliberated in the composition of: Maksymilian Rigamonti, Marcin Giba, Michał Drozd and Robert Godek, the Board of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship awarded the main prize of PLN 6000 to Anna Białowąs. Three honorable mentions in the amount of PLN 3000 each were also awarded: Dariusz Delmanowicz, Bogdan Kalisz and Edward Soński. In addition, the jury decided to honor 18 authors by presenting their works at a post-competition exhibition. A total of 22 authors’ photographs will be presented at the exhibition: Artur Barwacz, Anna Białowąs, Jacek Cisło, Adrian Czech, Dariusz Delmanowicz, Paweł Fiejdasz, Andrzej Górnisiewicz, Kacper Kaczorowski, Bogdan Kalisz, Łukasz Kosiba, Grzegorz Król, Kamil Kulik, Agnieszka Sykała, Szymon Muszanski, Aleksandra Niziołek, Tomasz Okoniewski, Damian Pękalski, Tadeusz Poźniak, Natalia Sakowicz, Jakub Soi, Edward Soński and Artur Wysocki.

The authors participating in the second edition of the “Podkarpackie Iconosphere” competition presented in their works an original and varied approach to the main theme. The multiplicity of creative attitudes influenced the presentation of the Subcarpathian Iconosphere. The organizers of the competition hope that future editions will allow through the unique medium of photography to show the complexity and multifaceted nature of the region in a comprehensive manner.
